Cookie Policy.

Information about the cookies and similar technologies used by this website, in accordance with Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2002 (Directive on privacy and electronic communications, as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC), as transposed into Lithuanian law by the Republic of Lithuania Law on Electronic Communications (Nº IX-2135 of 15 April 2004, as subsequently amended), and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the guidance of the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI).

01 — What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on a user's device when a website is accessed, allowing the website to recognise the device on subsequent visits and to record certain technical or preference information. This policy uses the term "cookies" in a broad sense, covering also similar technologies (local storage, session storage) used to store information on the user's device.

02 — Legal basis for the use of cookies

Under Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and the Republic of Lithuania Law on Electronic Communications, the storing of information, or the gaining of access to information already stored, in the terminal equipment of a user is only allowed on condition that the user has given his or her consent, having been provided with clear and comprehensive information in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC (now Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

This consent requirement does not apply to the technical storage of, or access to, information for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary in order to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the user.

In line with the published guidance of the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI), reliance on the legitimate interest of the controller (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) is not a valid legal basis for the placement of non-essential cookies. Where applicable, consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR is the only valid basis.
